Boston! What a great city. (Click here for the full photoset on Flickr)
Day 1 | We drove 13.5 hours out there, which went by surprisingly fast. We got to our hotel around midnight only to find out the room I reserved wasn’t available, so we wheeled some cots into a smaller room. It’s all good though bc I called Travelocity and I should be getting a full refund for that and got our correct room for the remainder of the trip. But we went to a bar in that town right at last call and we met and older couple with a thick Boston accent and got some tips and tricks for places to go and where to get some cheap beers. They were wicked awesome.
Day 2 |We woke up and went to a bar/grill called Herbies in Worcester where we were able to get a delicious $5 fish sandwich and $2 (22oz) beers. Then we headed to the show. Hung out all day at The Palladium watching tons of bands. Some good ones, some bad ones. Grab some Unos for dinner, then back to the show for Oceano, All Shall Perish, The Acacia Strain and my personal favorite for the whole weekend: The Black Dahlia Murder. As usual, they did amazing. So much fun.
Day 3 | We got our asses up at 8:30 to grab breakfast and get to the Sam Adam’s Brewery by 10 for a tour. Got there at a perfect time to jump on a tour right away. They took us around the place. Talking about the ingredients and the process. Then they led us into a little room that was set up like a bar and we got to taste 3 of their brews. Best part: Everything was free! We even got to keep our testing glasses. So we had a decent buzz going before noon. haha. Next we drove into downtown and parked under one of the parks. Then we went to the original Cheers bar. So cool! I paid a little extra to keep my mug. Then we walked out past the parks and took a stroll down Newbury street. I loved this street because structurally speaking it was really cool, but mostly because Johnny Cupcakes was on this street! It was a very cool experience, but they didn’t have my size for the shirt I wanted to buy. :/ Oh well. So we travel back through the parks and the big buildings to end up at the harbor. We sat down hanging our feet over the edge looking out at the water. Then we headed back to a market nearby and grabbed a couple beers at this little bar to watch some of the Brewins game. Checked out a few more sights around the city then jumped back into the car and headed to Harvard University. (We had to. lol) Stopped in a little Irish pub in Harvard Square and enjoyed the night.
Day 4 | This was the final day for the show. The big names include Stick to Your Guns, Texas in July, Emmure, Vanna, Everytime I Die, and Killswitch Engage (headlining). It was good day and there’s very few metal shows like the one that KSE puts on. (check out my last blog post for video) Great way to end a fun trip.
Day 5 | Drive home. It took a little longer but we did get to swoop down through Manhattan and got some decent views of NYC. But then we got into Pennsylvania and it was a crazy snow storm! Then cleared up completely in Ohio. Strange. Made it home safe and sound. Didn’t blow too much money and had an awesome time with my bros. I’d go back to Boston in a heartbeat.
Next? Las Vegas baby! | Sunday night my flight leaves for Las Vegas! I’m so excited to head out there to get some cool pictures and have some crazy nights. I’m not loaded with money, but I should have enough to have fun. You bet your ass I’ll be making a blog post about it when its all over. ;)
